We are pleased to inform you that, after serving in the interim role, Terra DuBois is now UF’s Chief Compliance, Ethics, and Privacy Officer. Terra leads the UF Compliance and Ethics (UFCE) office and is responsible for managing and coordinating a program designed to ensure compliance with laws, regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures for the University of Florida enterprise, including all of its affiliated entities. Terra has enjoyed working with the UFCE Compliance Partners and others in her interim role, and she’s looking forward to continued collaboration. Please join us in congratulating Terra!

The Office of Clery Act Compliance has recently enacted a new travel portal that will need to be utilized for all university sponsored student travel that is either for more than one night or which occurs in spaces used at least on an annual basis. The information entered into the portal will provide the office with the information required to solicit crime statistics from the applicable law enforcement agencies that oversee each location. It will soon be time to take the required Compliance and Ethics Training. All UF employees must take this training upon hire and every two years thereafter. The training is currently getting updated and will be launched in October with a new name: Compliance and Ethics: Doing your part for the Gator Good! This training will provide an overview of employees’ compliance and ethics responsibilities including conflicts of interest, financial stewardship, and reporting expectations. It will also review important provisions of the Florida Code of Ethics.

The latest issue of the Compliance Gazette is available now. This issue includes information about an upcoming compliance training, social media tips, and news items from Compliance Partners system-wide. You will also have an opportunity to test yourself on Social Media!
